The Bar formally known as the Arc has recently been taken over by the Seán Doyle Group who have exciting plans to re-design the space and turn it into an all new, chic and stylish Gastro Bar. This truly impressive building, previously a family run Café Bar was first developed over 13 years ago and is split over four levels including two amazing outdoor areas. With the foundations already laid for a fabulous venue and the inclusion of one of Ireland’s greatest interior designers’ Brian McDonald to the Seán Doyle re-design team, all are excited to see the magic unfold.
Owner Seán Doyle has already assembled a strong team of business, culinary, design and hospitality professionals led by General Manager Gerry Crawford, assistant managers Ken Keogh and Neil Donegan and head chef Conor McGowan, together with a crew of highly trained and enthusiastic waiting and bar staff, chefs, mixologists and baristas. As cutting edge design renovations take place throughout the building, management and staff are working hard to create a perfect selection of food and drink menu choices. Multi business owner Seán Doyle is owner and managing director of several very successful hospitality venues throughout the country including the Harbourmaster Bar & Restaurant, the Belgard Inn, and the Upton Court Hotel to name but a few. With his vast experience and expertise in both the hospitality and construction industries, he plays a vital and very hands on role in the speedy progression and development of this exciting ‘operation renovation’ project.

All new and hugely talented Head Chef Conor has worked in some of Dublin’s finest restaurants and hotels including the Guinness Storehouse, the Shelbourne Hotel and Purty Kitchen in Dun Laoghaire, prior to which he spent over 5 years working as a pastry chef in Australia. Conor plans to bring a mix of Aussie and European cuisine and is currently working with staff to perfect techniques on some of his specialty dishes.

General Manager Gerry brings an impressive 20 years of hospitality experience to the table. Having spent the last 12 years as an integral part of the Seán Doyle group in his role of general manager at the Belgard Inn, Gerry was the ideal candidate to oversee this exciting and challenging project while still successfully running the Belgard. Gerry’s vast managerial experience includes 4 years in the popular Henry Grattans on Baggot street and a further 6 in Ireland’s oldest pub the Brazen head.

Maria joined the SD Group in November 2016, returning from Canada where she spent over 3 years working in Marketing and Events for Canada’s leading university, the University of British Columbia. Maria has over 6 years of sales and advertising experience working for both Channel 4 and TV3 Television stations.
